Mihi mahana ki a koutou. We have enjoyed sitting out in the sunshine over the last few days. Feels a bit like spring time. No diets yet whanau, its still winter time and we have to keep some hinu on to keep warm! Great time for walking to keep the old ticker going strong. This month we make mention of Atarangi Muru, an international Maori healer. We have some great tasting healthy choices for snacks and a recipe for a green smoothie that is high in nutritional value as well as yummy. In the Latest News on our web site, we welcome 'Atarangi Muru' who will soon be embarking on another healing journey to New York and Los Angeles. Check out her profile on www.aiohealing.com. Atarangi has specialized in Traditional Maori Healing for many years now on a world wide scale. She is on board with the NZCM ñNew Zealand College of Massage, manages a clinic in Auckland and travels extensively abroad in her work. Atarangi is a born leader who runs a tight ship on her journeys yet is well known for her warmth and generosity. Her sense of humour while working is such a delightful treat that sometimes I laughed so much I cried. Personally, I found Ata to be an admirable role model and teacher who 'Walks the Talk' in truth, humility, kindness and understanding. It is no wonder that people from cultures around the world call her to their country for healing sessions and guidance. When you ask Atarangi how she is, she'll beam at you and say "I'M AWESOME!" And so she

Still managing to drink 2 litres of filtered Water a day? Tino pai rawe. This helps to flush out the poisons, toxins and acids and keeps your tinana clean. We drink hot water in place of a cup of tea and have green smoothies in the morning. The nutrients found in live raw food is excellent for our bodies as is the good bacteria to help the digestive system. The following recipe tastes yuuuummy (most important factor), helps keep the colon clean ñ (flushes the Tutae area), feeds you more protein - turning the body into a fat furnace while feeding your body the right nutrients.
RECIPE for GREEN SMOOTHIE
1 C Rice Milk, 1/2 C Soy Milk, 1/2 C Just Juice,1/2 C Acidophilus Yoghurt (with live active cultures), Spinach Leaves, Parsley, 2 Kiwifruit, 1 Banana, 3 Mandarins, Tbsp Lecithin, Tbsp Flax Oil, Tbsp Ground Linseed, 1 Scoop Amino Charge, 2 squirts of Amino Charge Regulator, 2 Scoops of Vanilla Flavoured Whey Protein.
Just whiz it all in the blender. If thereís any leftover then save it in the fridge for when you feel like something sweet later.
If you must snack in between meals then try some sugarless snacks or low fat ones. Popcorn is a cheap healthy snack. A popcorn machine is a wise investment. We put extra light Olive oil or Safflower oil (instead of the dreaded BUTTER) on our popcorn and then shake some garlic and chicken stock powder on it. If youíre adventurous, try sprinkling some curry powder and sea salt on it! Normal salt hardens the arteries but sea salt doesnít. Sea salt helps to clean the organs. Normally we shake the popcorn to coat it in a container. Very tasty with minimal calorie intake.
One blast of Sugar from Lollies, Chocolate or Fizzy drinks can actually stop your immune system from working for two hours. One glass of Coke has 6 - 7 teaspoons of sugar in it. Would you put that much in a cup of tea? If you are eating things with sugar in it throughout the day then your immune system will fail to kick start for you. Hence, time and time again, you may find yourself sick with the fluuuuu? Try Wrigleys Extra sugar free lollies to satisfy that cravings for sweet things. You hardly notice the difference. There is a product sold in health shops called ëSteviaí which is excellent for sweetening things. Preferably we use the Nirvana brand in a pure extract powder form.
