Kia ora koutou katoa
10 August 2006
Mihi mahana ki a koutou. The seasons are changing and there is a promise of spring in the air. This month we will be featuring whaea Dr. Rose Pere, our very own Tohuna from the Crown Chakra of the world. Submissions to oppose the Australian New Zealand Therapeutic Products Authority (ANZTPA) are due in on the 15th August -- next week. This affects Rongoa Maori, so scroll down and get up with the play. Nga Ringa Whakahaere, the national body of Maori healers wrote a great submission. We will give you some pointers for your own submission if you haven't done it before. Also, we will still recommend natural services and health products for your optimum health and well being.
Spring is not quite here yet and many are still nursing flu symptoms. Air conditioned rooms can attribute to this plus the lack of fresh filtered water to flush your system. Push those greasy fried foods away whanau as they slow your immune system right down so that it only works at half battery.
If you feel flu symptoms coming on then get some 'Echinacea' from your local health shop. Costs around $12 and comes in liquid form so that it goes straight into the blood stream within minutes. Echinacea can treat and prevent colds, flu, and other infections and is believed to stimulate the immune system to help fight infections. Echinaecea comes in tea bags too. Because we take daily doses of liquid vitamins, we don't suffer from flu symptoms.
Body Balance is a liquid whole food with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, enzymes, sea weed, herbs and much more. Costs around $55-$60 a bottle. Much cheaper than ongoing visits to the Doctor. Goji Juice is another powerful whole food that we take daily made from the Goji berries from the Himalaya's. Costs around $70 a bottle plus shipping. The indigenous people there believe the Goji berry to hold the secret to longevity - a life span of 100 years or more. Sounds a bit like the Tangata Whenua before the Pakeha brought all those diseases ne ra? Ohhhh BE NICE!
Dr. Turuki Rangimarie Rose Pere, the illustrioius Tohuna from Waikaremoana, is one of our most treasured teachers and mentors. She is a powerful mother figure not only to us here but to over 140 nations across the world. In New Zealand, Rose supports numerous organisations both Maori and European that support health and well being. People come to see her wherever they can and invite her to speak in their respective countries, in awe of her spiritual insight and infinite wisdom. Whaea Rose does not just speak of the oneness with every part of Mother Earth and Sky Father, but indeed with all universes and all galaxies. She lives it and breathes it.
Click here to read the 'Wisdom from the Four Winds' by Dr Rose Pere. Here she explains the significance of AIO ñ the energies of the divine mother, the divine child and the divine father.
Rose's dynamic charisma when speaking publicly is a sight to behold. She has this amazing gift for telling stories about her life experiences that mirror her humble beginnings and joyful truths. When Rose breaks out in song, everyone will hear it from a mile away.

Whaea Rose is the president of Te Pikinga AIO Inc Society which was founded in 1929 by her grandmother. This name means Upward and Onward with Peace. The motto is 'Utua te kino ki te pai,' which translates 'Repay evil with goodness' or 'Replace the negative with the positive.'
The Te Pikinga AIO Incororated Society oppose the trans-Tasman regulatory scheme for therapeutic products. In short, a new agency called the Australia New Zealand Therapeutic Products Authority (ANZTPA) wishes to govern the health of New Zealand under a joint arrangement with Australia who have adopted the U.S. standards when evaluating pharmaceuticals, and natural herbs and medicines. There is no benefit or need for us to be governed under any other country. This will regulate and adversely affect Rongoa Maori. The ANZTPA claim to have consulted with Maori yet there is not one reference to Maori or the Treaty of Waitangi in their proposed regulations.
Nga Ringa Whakahaere have posted their submission opposing this regulatory scheme on their web site: www.nrw.co.nz . Tena koutou. Tino Pai Rawe to mahi! Excellent reading and the points brought up in this can be used as a template for those of you who also wish to oppose this kaupapa.
The Te Pikinga AIO Inc Society submission began with a small explanation of our organisation then went on to support the points that Nga Ringa Whakahaere had validated and then added some of our own reasoning and Tikanga to oppose the ANZTPA scheme. Subsequently, we addressed this submission to Medsafe, the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Environment, Minister of Conservation, Minister of Maori Affairs, Minister of Health, and the Minister of Commerce.
Click on this for names of the Ministers. The postal address for all of them is Parliament Buildings, Wellington. We also posted one to the Maori party leader, Tariana Turia, Te Tai Hauauru Electorate Committee, PO Box 218, Whanganui. Feel free to email us if you would like assistance in preparing your submission.
We have had such an overwhelming response to the 'Green Smoothie' recipe that we have added a section on our web site especially for RECIPES. Share your healthy recipes with us and we will post them online in our recipe section. If you missed a newsletter, just go on to our site to read past newsletters in the 'Past Archives.' Sculpt powder is a tasty alternative to the Whey powder or Amino Charge. Sculpt is a fat burning powder especially designed for women with proteins, vitamins and minerals included. It retails for around $30 at the supermarket and tastes great too. (http://www.sculptforwomen.co.nz/)
Whey Powder is a protein food and fat burning powder available at the supermarket suitable for men.
Amino Charge would have to be the top of the range. Serious fat burner that retails for $77 by Life Force, the same company who makes Body Balance; the liquid vitamins.
For natural fertility information, we found a New Zealand website that helps with fertility awareness. 1 in 6 couples in New Zealand have trouble conceiving and sometimes it can be about learning to understand the cycles and the two days that you are able to conceive per month: http://www.naturalfertility.co.nz/

Well whanau, keep up the choice role modelling for your tamariki, so they see you exercising and eating healthy green veges and nutritious smoothies. My Nanny used to have hot boiled water all the time and we used to think Yuuuck but now that I'm in my forties, I realise that she was really on to it. My Nanny lived until she was 93 years old and her mother before that lived until she was 95 years old. That's a whakapapa to live up to aye?
Noho ora mai
