AIO Healing Newsletter Issue No. 8
31 December 2006

Nga Mihi ki a koutou katoa.

This newsletter is a little late but we have just come back into the office. We trust that some of you are still enjoying the festive seasons and pray that you, your whanau and loved ones will travel safely on your journeys. For those of you who are back at work now Kia Kaha. We have moved to a new whare in Palmerston North. It has been wonderful to stay home and enjoy our whanau and mokopuna. Holidays are a time of being able to let go and enjoy the abundance the universe has to give us. It is also a time of eating and drinking too much so we will look at some recovery strategies that will help to bring your body back into balance. There is much financial strain and stress on families over the holiday period. Emotions can soar from remembering loved ones lost and visits from certain whanau members can often trigger memories from the past. Sad to say, Womens Refuges are often at their busiest at this time of year! We will now be offering online tuition in Maori Healing as wel l as Healing Consultations from our AIO Healing website via live chat or using the Skype internet phone program. New Years resolutions for 2007 are coming to the fore for us with new beginnings. Stormie Lewis, a cultural bodywork trainer, is holding a 5 day workshop in Brisbane and Rob McGowan in Tauranga will continue with the Rongoa 1, 2 and 3 workshops this year. We have found an increasing demand to offer more accessible sex therapy sessions with women and men who wish to learn how to become fulfilled in their relationships. Next month we will release our new web site for SEX THERAPY. Watch this space!

We had a great trip over to Northern California and met yet again so many different healers. Many thanks to Atarangi Muru for her fabulous coordination of our trip and her loving support to all so that everything ran so smoothly. Also a big thank you to Michael for keeping our website calendar up to date while we were in transit. A huge thanks to Julia, Richard, Stacey, Diandra, Mari, Lorraine, Bob and the many others who supported this kaupapa. On our return we stayed in an excellent holiday home in Rotorua that had a fabulous view of the lake and offered us a 5-star breakfast included in the price! Great value for the price ($90/night) and highly recommended. Here is their website: http://www.baches.co.nz/bhh/listing/2469__C62220

We ate so much rich food over the holidays, coupled with wines, cocktails and too many late nights, so that we ended up feeling a little bit sick with flu symptoms. We had to take 3 1000mg tablets of Vitamin-C per day, liquid Echinacea and double doses of Body Balance and Goji juice which cleared it all up in a couple of days. With the change of the season, it was also a good time to take a few doses of LBSIIís ñ colon cleanse capsules to flush out some the rubbish and undigested food from the waste system. The health shop now has cleanses for your liver, stomach and kidneys.

Alternatively, boiling up some fresh Kawakawa juice can clean the blood and kidneys as well as alkalise the body. Too much alcohol, rich fried meats, slow cooked foods and sweet creamy foods cause the body to go very acidic and thereafter cause constipation. Acidic bodies are a breeding ground for disease which is why many vegetarians eat rice and fresh vegetables only, to keep the body in an alkaline state. An alkaline body is a disease-free body whanau! Check out this web site AlkalineFoodsDiet.

We have started to do monthly Herbal body wraps to deeply cleanse the body and organs via the pores plus you have the added option of losing inches with Herbal body wrap body sculpting. They are especially effective for strains and pain by drawing out poisons while feeding nutrients in through the pores. Just email us if you would like more information. There are 27 natural herbs and minerals scientifically formulated in the Herbal Body Wraps mix. Very similar to the body wraps found in expensive spas but here you can do it in your own home at a fraction of the cost. Needless to say, WATER is the best preventative and remedy for overindulgence in alcohol. The reason we black out from too much alcohol is the liver's inability to cope with the overload so it goes straight up to the brain, and in turn, we black out. With every glass of alcohol it is sensible to drink an equal amount of water to compensate. Addiction services in your area have counselors available and often hold weekly group meetings to offer support if you feel things are getting a little out of hand. Kaua e whakama. Believe you me, it can happen to the best of us irrespective of race, age or gender.

New Years resolutions! We have decided to eat healthier foods and exercise regularly. In fact, we started going to the gym and found some fabulous body jam dance classes, combat classes, step and aerobics classes that make exercise much more fun. The sauna and spa pools are great for getting rid of the poisons, toxins amd acids in your body and are a cheaper alternative to massage. We will always recommend a hands-on massage as the ultimate experience though, for both young and old. Our other resolution is to cook more soups with low fat meat. These low calorie meals keep the body in an alkaline state. Trimmed rump steak works well in a soup instead of fatty pork bones. Add some puha, garlic, ginger, onion, carrots, watercress, potato or kumara cubes, green bean (clear) noodles, fresh coriander, beef stock and a few spices and curry paste. Yuuuum!

Healing Tuition
Stormie Lewisís 5-day live-in ëCultural Bodywork Workshopí is on 13th ñ 17th January in Brisbane. The meals are all scrumptuous vegetarian dishes so you get to detox and train at the same time. Her whanau were from Whakaki of Ngati Kahungunu descent but Stormie was brought up in Queensland, Australia. Only 14 people will be accepted for this class. Although these trainings are not for the faint-hearted, the bodywork techniques are amazing. She has taught Hawaiian bodywork all over the world and is a charismatic teacher and spiritual facilitator. She also teaches Theta spiritual healing which has an American whakapapa. Check out her website www.beingintransformation.com

Rob McGowan from Tauranga, known as Pa Ropata will be holding more ëRongoa Workshopsí this year through the Waikato University. The courses focus more on identifying the plant in its natural habitat rather than making remedies. You need to be able to walk up dirt tracks as the majority of these workshops are held out in the bush. These workshops are very interesting and informative. There is Rongoa 1, Rongoa 2, and Rongoa 3 and each must be completed in consecutive order. Check out this web site for more info: http://www.uwt.waikato.ac.nz/cce/cce_maori.shtml

Maori Healing Online Tuition
We have had requests for tuition for Maori Healing from people from all over the world. With study and work commitments, workshops have been somewhat difficult to organize so, as a solution, we have created live-chat online tuition sessions. There is also the option of using the Skype phone program. Live-chats sessions are confidential so that no-one else can view your conversation online and you can learn from the comforts of your own home. The healing tuition sessions will run in 20-minute increments @ $30 a session. Just click on this link: http://www.aiohealing.com/AIO/Consultations/Online_Tuition/ . The payments are through PayPal, which is a simple and very secure way of making payments and all you need is a credit card. Alternatively you can use online banking deposits.

Relationship problems over the holidays? Know that you are not alone. It can be a difficult time for many. If you are feeling a little depressed then take the time to go for a walk every day. It is a simple remedy for mild depression and helps you to feel grounded again. Setting aside some time to play some soft meditation music (with no lyrics) to meditate for 15 ñ 20 mins a day will help to quieten the mind also. You will find some hints for meditation in our articles section.

Online Healing
When under stress our body can become dehydrated. In this instance, step up the water intake to 2 ñ 3 litres a day minimum and cut down on the tea and coffee intake for a while as they are a diuretic. Massage yourself with coconut oil in a hot bath with aromatherapy oils in it to soothe and relax your body. If you feel you need more healing, check out our healing consultations online that you can do from the comfort of your own home. No-one need see you going in for counseling. We offer concessions if you have a community services card so email us if you feel this is more suitable for you. Our healing practitioners are able to use the spiritual gifts of clairvoyance, clairaudience, empathy, and prophecy to facilitate healing for you. See http://www.aiohealing.com/AIO/Consultations/Online_Healing_Sessions/ for more details.

Sex Therapy
Never had an orgasm? Sleeping in separate beds? Sad to say many women and men have spent years in a marriage without ever being fulfilled. There is a fine line between spiritual and sexual energy. Our practitioners will work with you to discover and explore the core experience to lift and release the belief systems that hold one back from experiencing the deepest joys of life. These practitioners do not work from a clinical perspective where they have learnt things from books and merely assume they know what you are going through. Rather, they have first-hand life experience in sex therapy and have lived to tell the story. One practitioner spent over 15 years counseling and supporting males and females who worked in the sex industry as well as couples who had sexual problems in their relationship. Our other practitioner also has a lifetime of personal experiences to draw on and has been a pastoral counselor for 20 years using spiritual gifts to offer insight and facilitate so lutions in sex therapy. Sometimes these solutions are right in front of our nose and are so simple but because we are too emotionally involved we have not come to the realizations. These practitioners can support you in exploring your options using their spiritual insight. Next month we will release our new web site so watch this space.

We hope you will enjoy the remainder of the holiday season and look forward to an inspirational 2007 to deepen your experience on this spiritual journey of life.

Noho ora mai
